With everything happening in the news since October 7th, many people have lost sight of the true definition of Zionism. So what does it mean to be a Zionist? Zionism sparks much debate, but at its core it is simply the belief that Jews have the right to govern themselves in their ancestral homeland.
On Sunday April 26, 2026, the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center is proud to present Z3 Miami for the second time. T
The Z3 Conference is a one-day event that fosters dialogue between American Jewry and Israel. The conference focuses on panel discussions on complex topics, features keynote speakers, and offers engaging activities.
Z3 stands for the third era of Zionism. The first era of Zionism was when the pioneers came to the land. The second era came with the creation of the State of Israel in 1948. Now, in the third era, we have a strong Israel and a strong Jewish community in the Diaspora. We have two vibrant centers of Jewish life thriving. Now more than ever, it is important to dedicate a conference to Reclaiming Zionism: Meaning, Mission, and Modern Reality.
More than ever, this conference aims to initiate meaningful dialogue with those who are actively rethinking and shaping the conversation around Zionism, Israel, and American Jewry.
Miami is quickly becoming a center of Jewish life in the United States, and there is no better place to have these important conversations than at the JCC — a space that is non-denominational, apolitical, and welcoming to all.
The Z3 Conference will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 4:30 p.m., with more than 38 organizations partnering with us and presenting their work for Israel and the Jewish community throughout the day. We will also have over 30 speakers coming from Israel and across the United States.
One highlight will be Judge Roy K. Altman, who at the age of 36 became the youngest federal district court judge in the country. He will deliver a keynote talk about his new book, Israel on Trial, which will be released for the first time at the conference. The book examines the history and the evidence surrounding Israel through the lens of the law.
The conference will include both an adult track and a teen track, as well as special breakout sessions for young professionals ages 25–45. One of these sessions will be a wine tasting on antisemitism. While tasting curated wines from Israel, participants will gain insight into how global antisemitism and ongoing conflicts impact the wine industry — and the resilience that keeps it thriving.
We can’t wait to see you at Z3.
Bring your questions and get ready to engage with Israel and with your community. Because at the end of the day, Jewish thought has always been learned and lived through discussion — and here we are, right at the center of it all.”
