Miami — U.S. federal prosecutors announced the indictment of Michael Ron David Kadar, an Israeli‑American extradited from Israel, for allegedly issuing hundreds of threats against Jewish organizations between 2016 and 2017.
Authorities say Kadar used voice‑over‑IP technology and spoofed phone numbers to call in bomb threats and mass shooting warnings to synagogues, Jewish schools, and community centers across multiple states. The threats forced evacuations, disrupted daily life, and heightened fears of antisemitic violence.
The indictment includes charges of making threats, cyber offenses, and hate crimes, with prosecutors emphasizing that the campaign was designed to terrorize Jewish communities.
Kadar was arrested in Israel in 2017 and convicted there of similar crimes. After serving part of his sentence, he was extradited to the United States to face federal charges in Florida, where many of the threats were directed.
Officials stressed that the case highlights the global nature of antisemitic threats and the importance of international cooperation in combating them.
