The Root of the Obsession
3,838 years ago G-d said to Abraham, the first Jew: From now and forever all the peoples of the world will be blessed through your descendants, the Jewish people. G-d reiterates this to our forefather Jacob, father of the Twelve Tribes of Israel.
An Eternal Inheritance
G-d gave the Land of Israel to the first Jew Abraham and his descendants after him as an eternal inheritance. The land remains exclusively the Jewish people’s possession even when they are temporarily in exile – regardless of how long – and others live on its soil.
Israel
The land of Israel is like no other. It is The Holy Land.
Our Mandate
G-d chose the Jewish people to be a Holy People. We are His ambassadors on earth.
Each and every Jew is charged with the mission to be a Light unto the Nations. The drive to fix the world is embedded in the Jewish soul and psyche.
Our Message
The Talmud teaches that every individual is obligated to say, ‘The world was created for me’. G-d’s desire, for which He created the world, is to have an intimate, loving and reciprocal relationship with each and every human being.
This means that every human being is absolutely everything to G-d.
Consequence
When Jews live by the Torah – including promoting Torah’s message for humanity as articulated in the ‘Seven Noahide Laws’ – the Jewish people and Torah will be respected and esteemed in the eyes of the nations of the world.
The Seven Universal Laws:
- To establish a fair and just judicial system.
- To respect G-d and not blaspheme.
- Not to worship deities of any kind.
- Not to engage in immoral acts of physical intimacy.
- Not to murder.
- Not to steal.
- Not to tear a limb from a living animal (be compassionate to all G-d’s creatures).
Divine Guarantee
As long as we remain faithful to G-d and His commandments we have nothing to be afraid of. Our enemies will fear us.
Exile and Redemption
The Jews will betray G-d and will be exiled from Israel.
We will be dispersed and persecuted. Some will succumb to assimilation.
Yet, despite this and against all the rules of nature and logic, G-d will miraculously ensure our survival.
Finally, we will seek and return to G-d. Moshiach will come and gather us all to our homeland. G-d will be revealed on earth. Suffering will end. G-dly enlightenment will reign.
The purpose and end-goal of creation and all of history will materialise. The world will enjoy peace at last.
In Our Hands
The Redemption can unfold haltingly and with difficulty, or occur rapidly and fluidly.
Failure to heed G-d’s commandments results in the first scenario.
Living by His Torah results in the latter.
The choice is ours.
Healing the World
By Divine design, Christianity and Islam are part of the process that culminates with the coming of Moshiach and Redemption.
How so?
Both faiths, branches of Torah (by their own definition) have brought to billions the Jewish teachings of One G-d, Commandments, the Hereafter and the Messiah.
Although they altered Torah’s truth, they have nonetheless been instrumental in making the world familiar with these canons. Thus, at the appropriate time, the Jewish people will arise and heal the branches, by inspiring the world with Torah’s original and eternal message.
The Final Hurdle
Torah’s very first verse contains a prophecy:
A time will come when the nations of the world will accuse the Jews of being colonizers. Zionists.
We will be denounced and vilified for having stolen the land of Israel.
No amount of explanation and justification on our part will ring true. It will fall on deaf ears.
The singular and only response that the world will accept is when we will respond with the unadorned truth:
G-d Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, gave the Land of Israel to the Jews as an eternal inheritance!
On the Threshold of Redemption
Before Moshiach comes the supreme leader of Iran will fuel conflict in the Middle East and threaten world peace. G-d will perform miracles and Israel will be saved.
All Jews are connected. Every Jew is accountable for whatever any Jew anywhere in the world does.
Jews are fundamentally aliens, foreigners.
Jews have a secret agenda to dominate the world.
Jews have no right to a land of their own. Not by virtue of history, nor by right of conquest. These rights are axiomatic for all peoples. Not for the Jews. In the words of Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, “Israel is a burden on humanity and humanity can no longer tolerate it.”
Yes, we are indeed all connected. Our Jewish souls at their core are all one. We are all limbs of one great spiritual body and we all share the same spiritual DNA.
Yes, we are not members of the ‘family of nations’. Our souls are sent down here on a mission to bring G-dliness to the world.
Yes, we do have designs on the world:
We want the world to know that every human being is created equally in G-d’s image. Life is sacred.
Our mission is to inspire all peoples of the world with the awareness that G-d desires a personal relationship with each individual here in this world. The objective of life is not to earn a place in the Hereafter, but to bring Heaven down to Earth —
Mitzvah by Mitzvah.
That’s why the Pentateuch — The Five Books of the Torah — does not make a single reference to reward and punishment in the Afterlife.
The body is not to be suppressed or transcended. It is not the enemy. Nor is the body dispensable – our ticket to Heaven. Every human life is infinitely precious.
G-d’s desire in creating the world is that each one of us, through observing His commandments, invite Him into our lives.
Yes, Israel is not a state like all other countries. Our right to our homeland is unlike that of all other nations to their states. Ours is the Holy Land, bequeathed to us by G-d.
The obsession the world has with us will not, and cannot, go away, because G-d has woven it into the very fabric of humanity.
Supra-consciously, the world senses that its destiny is tied inexorably to the Jew.
The world is confounded by our very existence and, despite impossible conditions, our unparalleled achievements.
We are perceived as insidious and as a threat.
The more we seek to be accepted and treated as equals, the more we are reviled.
Only when we fulfill our Divine mandate as Jews with a Divine message, will the world understand, appreciate and embrace us.
He does not ask us to be perfect.
He asks us to be proud.
To unabashedly declare that our right to Israel is for no other reason than G-d Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, gave it to us forever.
He implores each one of us to set our Jewish souls free — our — and live authentically Jewish lives.
One mitzvah at a time.
To light one more candle of truth, for even a little light dispels much darkness.
G-d’s promise of a world perfected and redeemed will finally come to fruition. The time is now!
