The Anti‑Defamation League (ADL) has released its annual audit showing that, while the overall number of antisemitic incidents in the United States declined in 2025, violent assaults against Jews rose to alarming levels. The report documented 203 assaults, a 4% increase from 2024, and 32 attacks involving deadly weapons, up 40% from the previous year.
By contrast, vandalism and harassment cases dropped significantly, as did incidents on college campuses and those linked to anti‑Israel protests. Even so, the ADL recorded 6,274 incidents nationwide, the third‑highest total since tracking began.
New York, California, New Jersey, Florida, and Pennsylvania reported the highest numbers of cases. ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt warned that the threat has “changed dramatically,” noting that antisemitic violence has already claimed lives in the U.S. and continues to endanger thousands more.
The findings underscore that, despite fewer overall incidents, 2025 stands out as one of the most violent years for American Jews in recent history.
