Boca Raton Jewish Preschool Evacuated After Bomb Threat

A bomb threat reported at a Jewish preschool in Boca Raton, Florida, prompted an emergency response and precautionary security measures on Monday, October 12. Authorities evacuated the facility and responded to the surrounding area to assess the situation and protect students and staff.

The incident took place at the Betty and Marvin Zale Early Childhood Learning Center, which is part of the Adolph & Rose Levis Jewish Community Center campus in southern Palm Beach County.

Nearby School Takes Precautions

The reported threat led to a law enforcement response and traffic restrictions around the campus. Students at the nearby Katz Yeshiva High School were instructed to remain inside while authorities addressed the situation.

One student told The Jerusalem Post that an announcement over the school’s public-address system alerted students to a bomb threat at the neighboring facility. Vehicle access was also restricted temporarily, affecting school pickup arrangements.

The response was intended to maintain safety while law enforcement evaluated the report.

Authorities Report No Credible Threat

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office subsequently determined that there was no credible threat, according to a statement shared by the nearby Levis Jewish Community Center.

The organization praised Federation Campus Security, sheriff’s deputies and campus leadership for their swift and coordinated response.

The JCC also confirmed that all students and staff remained safe throughout the incident and that students were successfully reunited with their families.

Calls for Accountability

The incident drew a response from StopAntisemitism, a nonprofit organization that monitors and publicizes antisemitic incidents.

The organization condemned the threat and called for the person responsible to face prosecution, emphasizing that children should not have to experience threats of violence at school.

Authorities’ response underscores the importance of preparedness and coordination among law enforcement, security personnel and educational institutions when potential threats affect Jewish community facilities.

Security Remains a Priority for Jewish Institutions

The incident highlights the continuing security challenges faced by Jewish schools and community organizations, where reports of potential threats can require immediate precautions even before authorities determine whether a danger is credible.

The rapid response in Boca Raton helped ensure the safety of students and staff while law enforcement investigated the report. No students or staff members were reported injured in connection with the incident.
