If you’re sending out job applications, you may want to send one to Tesla. The company is looking for test drivers in Miami and other cities around the U.S. Besides Miami, Boynton Beach, in Palm Beach County, is the only other Florida city in Tesla’s Help Wanted listing.
Here’s what to know about the Tesla position:
WHAT DO TESLA TEST DRIVERS DO?
Your job is to drive a Tesla and collect data about the car’s performance. This includes writing daily drive reports with observations and issues, making sure the car is safe to use every day, minor equipment and software debugging, giving feedback on how to improve data collection.
WHAT ARE THE WORK SHIFTS?
The job listing says the full-time assignment is expected to last three months. Day and night shifts are available and you can expect to work one day over the weekend.
WHAT’S THE PAY?
While the pay for Miami is not stated, the listing for the Brooklyn position says the expected pay is between $18.00 to $48 an hour. The position is eligible for benefits. Tesla, whose majority shareholder is Elon Musk, did not respond to the Miami Herald for more details.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU NEED?
Driving a Tesla is basically like driving a computer, so you’re expected to know your way around some technology. Specifically, the listing asks you to be familiar with driver assistance systems and possess PC skills, particularly MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel). Other qualifications include having a clean driving record and safe driving habits, minimum four years of licensed driving and excellent written and spoken English.
