IsraelDays is an annual celebration in south Florida of Israel’s Independence Day.

The Mandel Jewish Community Center marks the holiday with various community events in observance of Yom HaShoah, Yom Hazikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut.

“Israel’s independence happened 76 years ago, and especially now, it’s just a chance to come together for something joyous,” Jesse Rosen, the President and CEO of the Mandel Jewish Community Center, said.

While Independence Day celebrations in Israel look different this year following the Oct. 7 attack and continued war, Rosen said it’s more important now than ever to celebrate the nation’s independence.

“The amount of support and love for Israel is the biggest I’ve ever seen,” Rosen said. “I think that the Jewish people have a long history of being challenged, and we always do OK.”
