Palm Beach lawmaker’s bill makes recent antisemitic message distribution a felony

Four out-of-state men who got a “littering” citation for distributing antisemitic flyers in Palm Beach would be facing felony charges if a bill Republican Rep. Mike Caruso recently proposed comes to fruition.

Police identified the men cited as being from Pennsylvania, Indiana, California; and Maryland, according to The Palm Beach Post.

This follows similar incidents in Boca Raton and Atlantis, places known to have a large Jewish population, and it hasn’t stopped. Another 150 flyers were collected from front yards in West Palm Beach.

Caruso’s bill specifically targets messages or images “with religious or ethnic animus” for the increased penalty.
