Florida’s first Jewish temple hit with bricks with anti-Semitic messages: 4th attack in recent weeks

A Jewish temple in Pensacola was damaged by bricks thrown with anti-Semitic messages written on them — the fourth such incident in Pensacola in recent weeks, according to WEAR. The most recent attack was reported Friday, with two bricks with anti-Semitic language thrown through a bathroom window of the Temple Beth El, according to the report. Temple Beth El was the first Jewish house of worship in Florida, with the first temple erected in 1876. The current temple on North Palafox Street opened in 1931. No one was injured in the incident. Pensacola police are still trying to determine exactly when the vandalism occurred. No additional details were released. According to the report, a brick with similar messaging was thrown into the Jewish Center in Pensacola, two weeks after anti-Semitic graffiti was painted on Pensacola’s East Hill Animal Hospital.
