Florida Commissioner of Education Commissioner Manny Diaz Jr. opened up an investigation Thursday against Dr. Fadi Kablawi, whose mosque is the owner and operator of the Reviver Academy, after he reportedly called for the murder of Florida’s Jews.
The investigation request was first initiated by Rep. Randy Fine, R-Palm Bay.
“After receiving my letter yesterday calling for the Dept of Education to suspend any funding of the madrassa involving Muslim Terror Dentist Imam Fadi Kablawi, today the@EducationFL has taken action and opened an investigation into Reviver Academy! Thank you @CommMannyDiazJr for taking immediate action! In Florida, we fight Muslim Terror,” Fine said on social media.
In the initial letter, Fine said Kablawi, who is Muslim, allegedly advocated for the murder of Florida’s Jews, including any in his care, while referencing them as “the brothers apes and pigs” in an April sermon on Facebook. Excerpts of the sermon can be found here.
“Oh Allah, annihilate the tyrannical Jews. Oh Allah, annihilate them, for they are no match for you. Oh Allah, annihilate the brothers of apes and pigs,” Kablawi said, per video transcripts.
Addressed to Reviver Academy, the corresponding letter indicates the Muslim madrasa participates in the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program, the Hope Scholarship Program, the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options, and the Family Scholarship Students with Unique Abilities.
“In Florida, we will not tolerate calls for genocide. This is especially true where they are made in the presence of students,” the letter reads. “The Department has received a credible allegation that Fadi Klabawi is connected to Reviver Academy. Thus, the Department has reasonable cause to believe that a violation of the state scholarship requirements has occurred.”
The Department also issued a series of questions for Reviver Academy to answer. Some of those questions are listed below.
- A list of all owners, operators, and employees (teachers and personnel) and their position titles in accordance with section 1002.421 of Florida Statute.
- If the school is owned by the mosque it shares an address with, a list of all those with leadership roles at the mosque.
- If the mosque and the school are owned by the same entity, a list of all those with leadership roles within the entity.
- Does Fadi Kablawi have a formal or informal relationship with the school?
- Does Fabi Kablawi interact with students while they are on the school’s campus?
- Does Fabai Kablawi provide instruction to students as part of any school program?
“We are literally funding the training of future terrorists. Not in Iran. Here. That has to stop, and it has to stop immediately. I call on you to immediately suspend the Reviver Academy Madrasa’s eligibility for taxpayer funding and commence a thorough investigation into the school,” Fine previously said.
