It’s one of those special holidays on the Jewish calendar that’s meant to be celebrated together, filled with joy!

It marks the yahrtzeit of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, the great sage and author of the Zohar, who taught that this day should be one of joy, as it was the time he received the deepest insights of Torah.
It’s also the day when the tragic plague among Rabbi Akiva’s students came to an end. Lag BaOmer brings a sense of joy, light, and renewed energy.
There will be a beautiful Lag BaOmer community celebration at the Chabad center, with a bonfire and BBQ, an Israeli theme of fresh shawarma in pitas, music, and activities for the kids.
