“The Education Crisis in Karmiel Deepens: Children Left Without Schooling Under Constant Threat”

“Shalhevet Chabad” is known for providing a high standard of education, focusing not only on academic excellence but also on fostering a strong Jewish identity. The school stands out for its innovation and unique approach, ensuring that every child receives a well-rounded and meaningful learning experience.

Amidst the ongoing war in northern Israel, students at “Shalhevet Chabad” school in Karmiel have had to halt their education due to the lack of a secure shelter. Fifty children find themselves unable to attend school or continue their studies safely.

Just this week, several rockets landed in Karmiel, not far from the school, emphasizing the urgent need for a protected and safe space for the children.

“This situation is simply unbearable,” says Anat, mother of Or, a second-grader. “Or misses his friends and teachers and constantly asks when he can return to school. Every time the siren goes off, Or has a panic attack, and we find ourselves huddled in the bomb shelter for hours. Education is so important to us, and I want him to have every opportunity. This shelter isn’t just a building; it’s an investment in our children’s future. It’s their second home, the place where they learn, grow, and dream. I’m calling on everyone who can help to donate and save our children’s future. Every shekel will help us build a safe shelter and give Or and his friends the chance to learn and develop in safety and peace.”

To allow students to return to school and resume their education, the school urgently needs to acquire a mobile shelter at the cost of 240,000 shekels (around $62,000). This shelter is crucial to ensuring the safety of the students and educational staff.

“This shelter is more than just a building; it represents hope for a better future,” says Rabbi Noam Rivkin, the school’s principal. “Our children deserve a safe environment where they can learn and grow.”

The community is appealing to the public for donations to fund the shelter. Every contribution, big or small, will help bring these children back to their classrooms and secure their future.
