Richard Alan “Richie” Klempner, beloved husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend, passed away on August 20, 2026, in Coral Springs, Florida, at the age of 78.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Richie served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971, including service in Vietnam and Germany. Following his military service, he worked as a mechanic for the United States Postal Service for 35 years.

Richie was known for his warmth, humor, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to his family. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, sharing jokes, enjoying good food, and celebrating life’s simple moments. Family traditions such as Sunday morning pancakes, Friday night blessings before Kiddush, and walks to shul became cherished memories that reflected his deep love and commitment to those around him.

Although he became more observant later in life, Judaism played an increasingly important role in his life and brought him great meaning. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren and treasured every opportunity to bless and encourage them.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth; his children, Andrew, Seth, Judy, and Jennifer; and his grandchildren, Jaiden, Jamie, and Ashton.

Richie will be remembered as a man with a heart of gold—a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, loyal friend, and proud veteran whose kindness and humor touched everyone who knew him.
