She Already Lost Her Husband. She Shouldn’t Have to Worry About Feeding Her Children.

Every day in South Florida, widows wake up carrying a burden that few of us can truly imagine.

They have lost the husband they loved, the father of their children, and often the family’s sole provider. Yet life doesn’t pause. The rent is still due. The bills keep coming. And every morning begins with the same painful question:

“How will I feed my children today?”

A Lifeline for Florida’s Widows and Orphans

For nearly a decade, Keren Almonos V’Yesomim has been quietly transforming lives.

Today, the Florida division supports 38 widowed families and 96 children, providing meat, chicken, and fish throughout the entire week, along with special assistance for Pesach, Sukkos, and other Yomim Tovim. More than food, the organization restores stability, dignity, and hope to families who have already endured unimaginable loss.

Every widow receives her own account at a local kosher meat and fish store under her own name. She shops like every other customer—with complete dignity, privacy, and respect.

Because no mother should ever feel embarrassed to provide for her children.

Their Words Say It Best

  • “My children had already lost their father. Should they also lose chicken and meat throughout the week? Rabbi Laufer lifted that burden from me and brought happiness back into our home.”

    • “Until I received this help, I couldn’t afford meat every Shabbos or fish for every meal. Thank you for helping me honor Shabbos while preserving my dignity.”

    • “My eight-year-old son looked at me and said, ‘Mommy, I know I’m a yasom… but I don’t feel like one. We have plenty of food, and we’re happy.'”

    • “You gave me back my old life. I can once again invite my children home for Yom Tov.”

    • “You make us feel like we are receiving a gift from family who truly cares.”

These are not simply thank-you letters. They are stories of broken hearts finding hope again.
